Sonic games, simply put, are horrid. Yes, even the 2D ones. Sonic and Knuckles was definitely good, but even then, it wasn't spectacular. Sonic games has aged really, really badly. As a kid, I was taken aback by how cool sonic was, how fast he went, the levels etc... But playing them nearly a decade and a half later, it hit me how mediocre the games were. Poor mechanics, awful level design, the ring system is pretty stupid.

I really think the first truly awesome Sonic game will be done by Bioware. Here's to hoping they can finally give some credibility to this character.

Also sonic has spikes growing out of his flesh, so if mario jumps on him he will shrink to little mario then die.
And if it goes down stamina sonic would win, has mario is an overweight plumber and sonic is in good shape lol

Mario has the fire flower! A fireball would easily catch Sonic.

sonic runs faster than sound, and this is not his top speed, those fireballs don't move that fast

don't get Chibi wrong, mario could own lots of people, but Sonic isn't one of them

nah, Sonic has only speed, how would he defeat Mario with speed alone? Sure the roll is pretty good but Mario has the invincibilty star and everything!

Sonic is strong enough to punch through metal, and he sonic spin is much more destructive

that combined with his speed just means mario would take a couple thousand steel busting punches in a few seconds

that and Sonic has taken punches from knuckles and got right back up, so one punch won't be keeping sonic down
