Microsoft Patents Wii Remote Killer Game Controller - Xbox

We were told that the motion sensing controller that Microsoft was researching had the functionality of both the Nintendo Wii Remote and the Nunchuk packed into a single device, with a shape that is neither that of a banana, nor a remote controller, but more like a “pistol grip.” On top, it is supposed to have an analog stick (that could be replaced by a trackball) surrounded by the four action buttons.

I can't believe that they have to rip off nintendo right when the going gets good for them, I mean there's so many other things out there they could do but they have to take the wii remote. There's nothing wrong with competing with each other using great new ideas, but this is just stealing to make money.

True but Nintendo's motion usage has been mostly faulty. If MS can make motion sensing truly intuitive (As in for real games, and not stuff like Wii Sports which is pretty easy motion sensing wise and Nintendo obviously has the whole neighborhood pwnt by it) then they could pick up some number of casual gamers.

I would assume that MS thought this one through and will be including one of these controllers and a packin game in addition to the standard stuff for any 360 SKUs when this comes out.

explain faulty? cuz in the games that are properly made the motion controls often work perfectly unless

room is to bright
you got Parkinson's
Dev.s didn't work out the bugs, etc.

It's basically a tech demo with some basic game-like elements thrown in.
