I know its difficult for some of the more linear gamers to accept that Wii is outselling the competition; quite apparant when you see them desperately trying to downplay figures/games/technology.

Unfortunately the 'real-world' is much larger than the 'online gamer forum community', and ordinary people have different tastes (and much smaller ego's). Nintendo's superior business philosophy and refreshing game design principals are serving them well.

No one's saying they aren't successful at what they're doing. But they're not really serving the traditional gaming community. That's fine, but I wouldn't call it a superior business philosophy. They're just catering to a different market. It's like comparing Warhammer to Monopoly. Sure, Monopoly has sold more, but it's really in a completely different market. There's still plenty of business in the hardcore market. I'm sure the video games that you plug into your TV sell decently, but that's a different market, as well. Just because Nintendo has successfully marketed their gimmicky gameplay to Grandmas and girlfriends doesn't mean everyone else should do the same.

doesn't matter

they're still games are they not?

in fact Wii sports has more features than some of todays games

it's not a game you'd pay full price for tho....oh wait, you didn't
