Who will own E3 this year?

Microsoft will announce a North American price cut. Gears of War 2 will be shown in playable form. Demos of Ninja Gaiden 2, Fable 2 and Too Human will be possible downloads on Live Marketplace. Something from the Banjo Kazooie camp will be shown (probably playable alpha) and THAT will cause MS to own E3 amongst the gaming community.

However the press will never give E3 to Microsoft.

Just my opinion.

I think Sony will pwn this year.

Why?

E306 for them was a dud (Nintendo totally OWNED that year) and Microsoft's lineup was just too powerful in 07 for Sony to do anything about it, and though Nintendo had a good year then, and the BEST presentation, Wii Fit and Smash Bros are only 2 games, Microsoft had a slew of good titles on display.

Sony has a lot of big hits this year like MGS4, Resistance 2, GT5, Haze, and so on coming for them, I won't be surprised if they win their 1st next gen E3 this year.

I think Microsoft will be the overall loser this year, they have a lot of good games coming, but unless they actually display a motion controller that can outright kick the wii's ass at it, or have some super special surprises, I doubt they will do much. And Nintendo will have to show off more than 1 hardcore game in order to attract the hardcore gamers that keep up on this stuff, but they are pretty secretive, so unlike microsoft, they at least have that edge in their advantage.

Somehow I get the feeling Nintendo's announcement are just going to be more of the same, not that it's a bad thing, just not very exciting.

MGS4 comes out in June, and Haze is supposed to be coming in May(I'll believe that when I see it), so they won't be shown. However the latest rumours have Home launching sometime in July, so many are expecting it will be launched at E3. You also have to figure that Little Big Planet will probably have a large presence as well, along with God of War 3 and I wouldn't be surprised if there were new game announcements from Naughty Dog(Uncharted) and Incognito(Warhawk).

They'll be shown, MGS4 at least, there's always some games that get shown that come out before E3, I remembered that they showed Harry Potter: OotP on Nintendo's show and that came out like 2 months before the show.

People usually don't get won over by presentations for games they can already play. An MGS4 presentation wouldn't help Sony very much at E3. Now if it was a Microsoft presentation of MGS4, that'd be different(let the rumours begin).
