The reason is that EAD understands the things which generate gripping narrative, as well as the things which detract from it. This is why Falco will cuss you out all the way to Venom, and then watch your six; and also why Mario is only allowed to speak one full sentence in SMG and Link can never open his mouth.

You clearly do not understand the appropriate use of VA, but that's okay because the people who know what they're doing are in charge.

Ok, so Link doesn't say anything. Neither does Gordon Freeman. The difference is: in Zelda, no one talks. In HL, everyone else does. Seriously, text is dumb in videogames. It's like watching a movie in subtitles.

This is probably just my morbidity, but go on: What's wrong with watching a subbed movie?

I have to agree with Xisiqomelir here.

Some of my favourite movies are sub titled only

Now tell me, if those same movies were in real audio, would you like them more or less?

If you say yes, then either a) you're def, or b) you're pretentious...or maybe you wish you went through life with everyone texting each other instead of communicating verbally.

If you just have text and not audio, you lose out on half the meaning. Things like tone, inflection, pace pack in so much information that is left out in the transcript.

So in other words, you are inept at understanding anything that isnt spoon fed to you?

Have you even played a Zelda title?

Um, I find that when i read something, I tend to add the tone and pace and stuff by myself, and it seems to fit just fine. I don't particularly need someone doing it for me to get the meaning. Maybe it's just me.
