Planet GTA : "PS3 version is undoubtedly superior to the Xbox 360"

PlanetGTA writes: "Contrary to what many expected, it seems as though the PlayStation 3 version is selling more than the Xbox 360 version at certain large retailers. UK retailer ASDA is reporting that the PS3 version is selling three times more than its rival - the Xbox 360. Over in Australia, EB Games is reporting that while their pre-sales figures show both versions selling fairly close, the PS3 version is in the lead. Another retailer in that country, Gametraders, is saying the PS3 version is selling double than the Xbox 360.

Interesting indeed, I myself - who is a big fan of the Xbox 360 - will be getting the PlayStation 3 version, as I've read and heard personally from people who have played the game already that this version is undoubtedly superior to the Xbox 360. Granted, not as much that I would recommend going out to buy a PS3 console if you have a 360 already. Too bad that episodic content is Xbox exclusive, is Take-Two/Rockstar regretting that decision now?"

I predict the next couple weeks will be full of this kind of stuff. Every gaming site will be giving side-by-side comparisons, and there'll be some people who say one version is superior to the other for whatever odd reasons. Fanboys will be crawling back out of their basements and giving their stupid biased opinions. Fortunately I'll be busy playing the obviously superior PS3 version, so I will be playing instead of listening to them.

I'm not really a GTA fan but numerous reviews are saying the multiplayer will be awesome. I might actually look at getting this now.

And I am a GTA fan, but I haven't really payed much attention to all the news and previews for the game, but I know I'll be getting it. Quite likely at midnight even, since there's a store a block from me that's having a midnight launch.

Its all hype.

If the PS3 version is better, it will be in something superficial like colors or load times. Some will prefer how it looks on 360, or think that the load time differences are too minimal, and since they may prefer the 360 version, they will do that too.

Its all superficial. Some people thought Assassin's Creed looked better on 360 and some preferred it on PS3.

Some prefer the 360 controller, some prefer the PS3 controller, so more superficial biases.

The ONLY thing I have heard that PS3 trumps the 360 version on from most sources is having a little more stuff going on onscreen (basically a slightly better draw distance, which means a couple more peds or vehicles may be onscreen), but unless you were watching the 2 games side by side or unless you're a freak like that, you won't notice.

i honestly wonder how big a difference it really is, the difference in assassin's creed isn't noticeable so I wonder if it will be like that.

even though fanboys said one was better than the other lol...

lol Achievements...... I've never owned any of the GTA series but i've been doing alot of reading of reviews and what not the past couple weeks. I think i'm going to buy it as i'm pretty sure I would enjoy the story. But we'll see. Haven't made a final decision yet. But its good to hear the PS3 is getting some quality development with this game. Hopefully it will sell well for the PS3.

i cant wait to get into the multiplayer ..

the differences between the 360/ps3 will be no doubtfully minuscule.
as someone stated already- draw in distances and pedestrians and such. i wander how those without the harddrive will fare in this debate..
