Rah!

We should start a habbo hotel clan or something..

I wish there was an MMO that looked like gaia online and played like animal crossing or something.. I've searched so hard but there seems to be a giant hole in the market.

I'm hope hope hoping the new FFCC is a hella cool mmo

edit; the best mmo i ever played was that 3d porno one because 1. there was naked chicks walking around and 2. there were like 20 dance moves you could cue up-- But no gameplay (Oh I nearlly forgot 3. you could smoke weed.. Hm, maybe I'll dl it now...)

That new 360 cops and robbers game (ABP or something?) looks sick, I'm thinking something like that, except with more social networking stuff..

You know what else was wicked? Sissyfight 2000

I will start playing MMORPGs when there is a game where the world has finite resources and items. (meaning the maximum ammount of gold and items (duh!) is set from the start) and you can lose gold/items you have on your charachter when you die/get defeated.

So far no MMORPGs fulfill any of those requirements so I don't play MMORPGs (anymore; ok ok I'll admit I have played Ragnarök Online, Silkroad Online and Guild Wars).

I was looking at Maple story but the installer is 800mb and this net isn't great..

Gunz was a kickass idea but the competition is too high for me. (Fun game though)

Habbo Hotel won't connect for me =/

I just found this awesome looking 2d game called Castle Infinity (That has something like 20 active players) but the installer won't connect ARGH [I think this game is 'the one', btw]

I'm thinking of a game, an MMO, that doesn't play like an RPG but has SOME of the staple elements like item hoarding and levelling-up, but is geared to be really easy to jump into for new players-- The game would play something like Golden Axe or -maybe- Secret of Mana. You could still lock up most of the game world, but make it so there is never any grinding involved to get to the next part-- Like Zelda, basically- You'd have 7+ dungeons with some mechanic that makes them replayable (Like partying with noobs nets you extra something), plus a bunch of other stuff to explore- There can be no emphasis on grinding at all as this is what ruins every mmorpg I've played. With levels, instead of getting endless combat perks you would unlock new clothes and stuff, right? The rpgish bit of the game MUST take a backseat to the social stuff also

dont even read that

I think I would have loved phantasy star online

Ok, take 2;

I'm thinking of a game, it's basically FFCC online- With realtime combat the emphasis is on fun, and instead of grinding/xp/levels, you come across higher levelled weapons/armor/metals-- The best point of the game is that you can be on the last level with your totally pimped out warrior and a total newbie can join your party because the game is that well balanced

Yeah I really want the new ffcc

Problems with MMORPGs are that they have to have grind otherwise people would stop playing them (yeah I don't get that logic either but it's the way it works just look at the world )

BTW Leo have you played the FFCC game on the DS?

I haven't. Lame is me. I guess my mind must have boycotted it for not having online multi. [Which would have been my dream come true (+Voicechat would have been a dream come true with all the trimmings)]

I make music-- I've been dabbling in heaps of other stuff lately- drawings, comics, writing.. I started a 2d kind of megaman-ish cinematic/battle game based on the cartoon series I want to make last night- Anyway this thread inspired me to start an mmo (I was going to make all turn based stuff fly past really quick) so I downloaded Elysium Diamond since it has a small filesize but it's missing a driver and so now I'm already bored with it and damn it, I'm having another tequila because I just am, ok!

If I can be bothered trolling the net for an mmo creator type thing that works [All the first results on google are two year old forum posts with broken links] and get something together I'll throw it up. Same goes for the other game if I ever make it any good...

Here's some of the art, look;

But what about all your rants about how voice chat isn't necessary for games? I thought that chatting on MSN was good enough.

That's insane talk, and here I am wishing for a Secret of Mana killer out of it. But no SquareEnix is set disappoint again. On the other hand with it currently being the only big thing on the most popular console, Wii, they need it to be better then the crap FFCC is currently known for.

You know since FF7 every FF has had reduced sales from the last. With FF13 & FF13v stuck on PS3 it guaranties even lower sales than it would on the most popular system. It basically means SE needs FFCC to be good and sell well. That's probably why they said they were concentrating on single player story mode, dropped the art style for something more similar to the main FF series, and went with a "Cecil" like main character.

Expecting it to be a good MMO is crazy though. All suggestions point to FFCC concentrating on single player. Never mind SE didn't even create a version of FF11 on Wii because of problems with Nintendo's online policies, which puts even more doubt on the possibility. That is all unless you mean a differant "new" FFCC, not The Crystal Bearers in works for Wii, because that could have more possibility.

Both CC games have been four player so far. It's the key selling point. Chance of Crystal Bearers being single player = 0

All I heard was;
Square; We're moving the game to a new engine created specifically for Wii
Nintendo; We're implimenting pay to play on our online games

And not a word since. Both those announcements were -very close together aswell, iirc. As for FF11, wtf? Was that the online one? Anyway, was anyone expecting another numbered FF on a Nintendo console? What was the last one? FF4 on the SNES? Sony pay for those exclusives anyway.

lol, I knew someone would get it. I was arguing that msn voicechat is adequete for SSBB online. It is. [I think I mentioned online for smash brothers is pretty superfluous anyway..] FFDS -needed- online play, but I think Square were being conservative. My Life as a King or whatever is still selling, I'm sure the ideal CC game will come out eventually. (BUT I WANNA PLAY A DECENT MMO NOWWWWW)

I can't shake the feeling we're gonna see the new Nintendo handheld at e3 =\
