DS vs PSP Worldwide Sales, nonforbidden version - Page 4

I don't see what the big deal is. Gamecube was released in 2001, PSP was released in 2005 and it already has 21 million sales. That's a lot. A lot of people have PSPs and the PSP has been a financial success for Sony. So how is it a failure?

99% of PSP owners as sonyfanboys, they'll buy anything with a Sony on it

One of my friends bought it to play games, and since the games sucked he now uses it as a mutlimedia device

So much for being a Playstation, they should of called it MMP

2004 in Japan, and handhelds usually sell more than consoles.

Edit: And as a note, if it has in fact sold 21 million, that is less than 10 million in a year, which means it is being outsold by Wii.

Considering the PSP is up against the DS for games, and the iPod (and other small portable multimedia devices) for music and video playback, I'd say it's doing ok.

No, I mean it is being outsold by a home console, which is unusual.

No it's not. The GB/C was outsold by the PS1, the GBA was outsold by the PS2 and now the Wii is outselling the PSP. The only thing that is unusual is that the DS is the no.1 out of home and handheld. 21 million in less than 3 years is not failure by any means.
