you'll be wanting a PSP once God of War Chains of Olympus comes out. Good games now are the GTA series, Metal Gear, Burnout, Sciphon Filter and of course Madden and NCAA Football

Well you've probably already gone on your trip and come back already, so this post is pretty pointless. Also, I don't have a PSP so I can only recommend DS games, but if anybody reads this, these games are awesome:

Meteos
Mario Kart DS
Metroid Prime: Hunters
Final Fantasy III
Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
FIFA 0X
Advance Wars DS
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
Resident Evil DS

I mean, there's so many great DS games, but this is just some of the essentials IMO. And there's a bunch of weird niche stuff that I would recommend but I don't know if you'd be into it, like Electroplankton and Nintendogs.

Touche, sir.

I've already decided on the PSP, but please, continue to debate, and feel free to question my taste.

I thought Cooking Mama was a really stupid concept, but I played it on New Years Eve at my cousin's house, and it was pretty mint. So was Brain Training.

Why must this thread keep coming back? It's long ago obsolete.
