I'm not saying it doesn't offer the same. I'm saying the homebrew community for the PSP is stronger and the PSP just does it better. With it's extra power it makes stuff like VNC a little better. Can the DS stream video from your PC? I really don't know what the DS can do I don't pay attention to it. BTW, I only listed stuff that I use my PSP for there are plenty of other applications I don't even know about out there. Some others include camera and GPS.

Contradict much?

My opinion would be that the DS does non media emulation better than the DS like organisers, browsing the web etc... due to the touch screen feature that makes it like a PDA but the PSP does game emulation and homebrew media better due to it's extra horsepower and bigger screen.

I don't think either homebrew community is stronger than the other (I spend time on homebrew sites that cover all console and if anything, the DS parts of the forums are usually more active), and I think it would be presumptuous to say that because the PSP has more horsepower than the DS, that it does homebrew better.

Like Juno said, while some things will indeed be able to run better on the PSP because of it's power, the DS is more versatile with what is possible to do with it when coding homebrew.

After all, homebrews are made by amateurs, and I don't think any homebrew game of application will ever really tap into a console or handheld full power, so except for some ressource heavy applications, I don't think the difference in power matters much at all. Beside, the DS touch screen allows to code some very nifty stuff and to make very complex user interfaces.

In other words, while there's no argument to be said against homebrews being different for each consoles, I don't think there's any valid argument to support the claim that either homebrew scene is stronger than the other.

Homebrew programmers will code for the console they prefer to work on depending on what they want to make, and the end-user will use the homebrew games/programs they want depending on which console they own and what they want to do with it. Bottom line though, the cool thing about homebrews is, if you own a console and you want something on it that's not already out there, well you can just go ahead and program it

The DS has more oustanding games. Plus from the looks of it alot of the games on PSP are on PS2 and other home consoles, where as ds is pretty well all exclusives.

Isn't it safe to assume that the writing will be more positive if the grade is high?

Not always. Edge gave Bioshock an 8/10 but in the review they praised it endlessly. Also some games are docked points for faults which you might not mind so if that's the case you may miss out on a game you would otherwise enjoy. A score doesn't tell you about a game, it just tells you how the reviewer thinks it compares to others.

I'd also like to add that many games are docked points simply because not everyone will love it/niche genre, which is a cop out.

That is indeed true.

Or on the other hand I've seen reviewers dock points because a game is too hard (while they do mention that they didn't want to play it on the normal or easy setting ).

Fun thing, the games I enjoy the most and spend the most time on are usually niche games that are scored around 75.

That one is getting old. I'm 22, my brother is 16 and a friend of mine of mine is 22 too. We've all got a DS. Guess we're small children?

Or maybe we had them more than a year before the wii was released and believe in quality over quantity (quality = innovation, quantity = power)
