| I never said only small children buy the system... It's obvious to look at the marketing campaign etc... Who does that focus on? When have you seen an adult orientated Pokemon commercial?

| All the adverts over here are aimed at adults. ie. Adult audience celebrities and brain training/other of the same types of games. The DS isn't aimed at any one specific group of people. It's aimed at everyone.

| I don't really see any adverts for consoles or handhelds that target children. The closest would be the Wii - that has a commercial with a couple 13 yr. olds. But it's currently: PS3 - showing the PS3 as a blu-ray player only, no mention of games 360 - average stuff - shows a few games and there's one with some band in it, but they don't play the XBOX, it's only in the background Wii - Japanese dudes acting bubbly, walking around asking everyone if they'd "like to play." Another with a couple young teenagers playing some fighting game that they don't stop playing until they're 100 years old. DS - mostly older people playing Brain Age and such. PSP - they have commercials? Oh yeah, there's the one advertising the Star Wars PSP. |

| Maybe that's because it's Pokemon? One game that is a geared towards kids does not equate to a kiddy system.

| Yeah, the DS commercials I see are geared towards adults and "family play" more than children. Especially the Brain Age ones, there aren't even any kids in those.

You'd think they would try to promote children playing a game like Brain Age. Instead we're content with having a bunch of little idiots running around. |

| Yes, but thats the mainstay of the system. You guys are right though, I always ignore brain age so I forgot about those adverts. I don't think that happened intentionally though, I think they kind of struck gold by accident on that one. Either way it caused a huge change in Nintendo's marketing structure as of late. Even very obviously family oriented Wii commercials. Before it was suggested now it's explicit.

| I think it's a lot to say that Pokémon is the mainstay of the DS. While the Pokémon games sell a lot, the DS would still strive very very well without those games.

| But Brain Age is aimed at adults. It's minimum age is 20 which makes it kind of vague for people of younger years.

I think this is the problem with most gaming sites. They review all games worth playing between 7 and 10. Anything below that is crap. An 8 should mean the game is very good, but to most gamers it means there are some severe problems with the game.
