| Anyone here know a good place to start if I want to code some DS homebrew? I code already at a passable level in assembler and C, but have no idea where to even begin for working on the DS.

| Best place to start: PAlib - All you need is basic knowledge of C (which you can improve upon as you go depending on what you want to do). PaLib is (one of) a library of functions ready made to work with the DS. In other words, it's made to make homebrewers' life easier, especially for those of us with limited programming knowledge. It's what I use to code my own homebrew, and even though I spend more time on the French forum (mainly because the guy who made the library spends most of his time there too, but also because of it's off-topic discussions), I still ask stuff on the English forums as well. People there are all very friendly, and even though there are a lot of homebrew (and not so homebrew) scene websites and forums, if you want to actually program your own, this is definitely the best place to start |

| Well I try anyway I just released one thing so far and it was pretty basic.Anyway, I just wanted to add that if you need help just at least setting up things, feel free to send me a PM or something. I know that one part of the required tools needed to work with PAlib (devkitpro) was updated, resulting in some compatibility issues (thus requiring to install an older version of devkitpro) for example. Anyway, congrats on taking the leap |
