Actually, I was wrong. It's been confirmed that compatibility with the GBA games is language based as opposed to region based. So, provided they're both English versions, you'll have no problems trading.

But if you have a UK Emerald (such as I do) you really need to wait for the UK Diamond/Pearl otherwise it won't work on the UK Wii Pokemon game ....

Basically it's all made far too complicated

I got Daimond on monday and have been trading online with people from my irc channel and rl.. I agree with Neo, it is the best pokemon so far, I tried voice chat with a person in the US... its interesting... slight issue is that that games music somewhat over powers the voice coming in.. I guess thats why they made the headset.. so its easier to channel into your ear..

and the added bonus of transfering from the GBA versions makes it that much more fun, + breeding so you can pass on eggs to people I got a Bulbasaur egg !!!
