Hahaha I remember when I used to do stuff like that on Pokemon Blue. Everytime I wouldn't catch a Pokemon I would blame it on not holding the B button "hard" enough.

Yeah seriously. I remember I'd try to catch a Pokemon and it wouldn't work and my cousin was like "Just hold the B button down" and it worked.

Actually I learned that the trendy gimmicky rumor for increasing your catch yield is now to yell "gotcha" into the DS. Call me cruel but whenever I read of people doing this I laugh, a lot. The most widespread impact the microphone's had on the DS is, in the end, getting Pokémon geeks to yell at their systems.

I'm fairly certain it never did. But given the random nature of the ordeal, especially on the harder to catch things. It's very easy to create the illusion that it does. (Just like prayer has a correlation with killing heart patients. )

I found it makes no differernce outside of the very 1st game.
