Metagross is cool but Bronzong has my love. I was enamored the moment I saw him as Bronzor, looking like a ritual mirror. Practicality wise I'm pretty sure Metagross's stats and abilities are much better as a fighter, and Bronzong better as an annoying tankish thing. (I also like the quirky nature moves it can learn through that association as ritual bell. )

Actually Metagross has a slightly higher Defense. Brozong is better in SP. Defense though...

Question:

Does Sp. Defense protect against Sp. Attacks? I've always wondered that :\

Yep. Pretty straight forward. Though also note abilities. Bronzong comes with either levitate (total ground nullification) or heatproof (fire damage halved.) One of two steel side weaknesses reduced if not gone.

As far as raw stats Metagross wins everywhere but special defense. Their leveling move pools differe quite a bit. Bronzong thanks to it's nature associations can learn a few odd elemental moves.
