Well, last night was interesting.

Had tickets for a train home for 9:00 pm. Ride from Kingston to Toronto was scheduled to take a bit over 3 hours. Get there, train is late by half an hour. No big deal, right? Fast forward two and a half hours and we're 30 minutes from Toronto when they announced we've been involved in a "fatal pedestrian accident", i.e. some poor guy decided our train would be the one to jump in front of. Haven't seen any news reports yet so I'm not 100% sure but we weren't near a station so no one should've been there, unless there was a gross miscommunication with workers or something it's safe to say whoever was there wasn't there by accident. So we had to wait for police to come, identify the guy, file a report, all that. We were stopped there for almost 4 hours and I only got home at 5 in the morning.

On the bright side they gave us a 100% credit on our ticket price towards future tickets, and served us the rest of the food they had for free. Best motherfucking Pringles I've ever had.

Drooger, you work in rail don't you? How often does this happen?

They actually came out right away announcing that it was a "fatal pedestrian accident"? Seems like the sort of thing they wouldn't normally be so specific about right away, if at all.

Sounds like it would've almost been faster for you to walk home.

The actual wording was roughly "Uhhh... we regret to inform you that we've been involved in a, uh, pedestrian... "accident"... uhhhh... which was, to put it bluntly, fatal. blah blah this will be an unpleasant evening blah blah police blah blah at least 2 hours".

But they have to say something don't they? Can't just stop a train for 3 1/2 hours and expect passengers not to wonder what's happened. No point in beating around the bush really.

And Google Maps says its 2 days and 4 hours from Kingston to Toronto walking. So not quite.

Although it does say I would've saved about 5 hours hopping from one city bus to another all the way here.

Happens quite often actually. Jumping in front of a train is a 'popular' suicide method.

Making you wait four hours is a lot though. Usually takes two hours here.

I remember playing some other people too (SuperBoomFan, raped me; Eric Cartman, played him a bunch and probably won 1 game out of like 20)... there's a lot of good people. I wish I hadn't stopped playing for so long, I figure if I had been playing consistently of the past 2 years I'd be fairly decent.
Holy fuck shit. I just played SuperBoomFan again. We played like 8 games (5 stock), I think I took 5 stocks off him total. Best game I had him down to 3 stocks. He 5-stocked me like 4 times. His fucking 0-to-death combos are insane, 90% of the time he'd get a hit on me, from anywhere on the stage, and I ended up dead. My asshole hurts.

I need to learn to get used to a controller for this, keyboard just doesn't cut it anymore... I just don't wanna put in the effort. :|

Hey guys. I had totally forgotten about this place, but you wished me a happy birthday so I felt I ought to say thanks.

Since DC Universe Online is now free-to-play I thought I might as well download it and give it a try. Turns out it requires a 14GB download(fortunately I have no monthly download limit) so that has tied up my PS3 for the last few hours.

That meant not only did I resort to the ol' Wii to provide me gaming entertainment for the first time in months, I decided I'd whittle away a bit more at the dreaded Twilight Princess. Finished whatever the snowy/icy level was called and made it to the start of the Temple of Time. I might still finish that stupid game yet.

7.5 hours to download DC Universe. It felt like the old days with dial-up again. This game better not suck horribly.
