E3 2002(?) Halo 2 gameplay

Dudes, I was watching the video of Halo 2 gameplay on my copy of Halo:Combat Evolved. Damn, that level of New Mombasa was awesome!

Anyone have a hack of it? Or something like that?

yeah that new mombasa level rocked, too bad it wasn't in there. I was really stoked for that too.

They made a map of it for Halo PC:CE (the online only mode that was an "upgrade" to Halo PC which allowed Custom Maps).

It was a fun user made map.. wonder if we will EVER see it officially?

The Halo 2 New Mombasa was alright but it lacked the epic tone of the E3 demo. Sure, we got the scarab.. but that kinda sucked in the end. All we had to do was kill the baddies inside and then it explodes. I would have liked to see MC hit the self destruct.

I remember that trailer, where you drive through the city, riding on the back of the rail gun hog, shooting shadows, and having brutes jump on the the hog...that trailer was made of total win. What was the official reason why they didnt inculde it?

It was buggy as hell, and it wasn't actually part of the script, just a tech demo, so their time was better spent on the other levels.

They mention it on the Halo 2 Limited Edition disc, they talk about it for a bit.

Also, someone h4x0red it to run on Halo CE for the Xbox. It was a pretty awesome map, but it lagged like crazy if you had 4 people on it. And it was absolutely ginormous. And it was buggy
