Do you think it's that the East is that good, or that bad this year? I mean, there are only 2 teams that have their position solidified in the playoffs and there are only 2 games left.

Most people seem to feel it's a case of the East not really being all that good this year. Most of the Cup favourites are in the West.

This could be a very interesting first round in the East. Boston vs. Montreal. Possibly the biggest rivalry in hockey history. 31st meeting in the playoffs. Many teams in the league haven't played that many rounds in their history, let alone against a single team.

Rangers vs. New Jersey. Who has home ice is all that's left to decide, but when the two teams play a few minutes away from each other, does it really matter?

And as long as Philly doesn't win today, that'll leave PA rivals Pittsburgh against Philly, and the capital cities of Ottawa and Washington to play each other.

This could feel like the old days of hockey with 3 big time rivalries possibly being played out in the 1st round.

Of course Philly had to go and ruin the possibilities by winning their last game of the season. Still get Boston/Montreal and NYR/NJ at least.

TSN : NHL - Canada's Sports Leader

Good news as a Bruins fan, and just one of those things you usually like to see as a hockey fan at all. Would be great to see Bergeron back in game action during the playoffs. Especially against Montreal. They don't like Bergeron much in Montreal.

Now you've gone too far. Spamming other threads, OK. But not the NHL thread. There's no place for spam here.
