Default New HD Movie format. Could it give trouble to BR and Hd dvd?

HD VMD: A New Combatant in the Format War? - Computer Shopper

Hello, 1st post, but I've reading this forums a long time. I think that this is only the 1st of many formats emerging. I think that this could potentially be a lot of trouble for the PS3, since the X360 could actually support it. Anyway, I predict that the next format leader of HD movies hasn't actually been relased yet.

Sincerely DrR

PS tried posting this before and didn't work. If by any chance this is a double post I apologize.

I think it is a little late in the game. It has 0% share as of now. Sure it is a superior format and it is cheaper but if this came out 2 or 3 years ago, game over for sure. Now, just a little too late, remember the superior format doesnt always win. But being cheap and superior would give it an edge but it will be lost in the fallout once consumers pick BR or HDDVD. There is a few optical formats emerging that are incredible but will never make it to mainstream in my belief

Gotta wait and see if it gets studio support. Not sure how this would fall in as far as the HD exclusivity contracts go.

I really don't think so, they have literally no support from the major movie studios and neither of them,-except probobally Warner- I think will support this format.

It will be so hilarious if this new format ends up winning.

Meh, VMD sounds too much like a sexually transmitted virus to win.
