Default US Presidential selection

Before any lock happy mods go mad I want to make something clear! This thread is designed for information only. As much as I whate to say it, America has a massive impact on the rest of the world and therefore the choosing of their president is going to be important.

Can some of our American friends please let us know the gossip on the streets? Who is likely to win and what do they stand for? What are the implications for USA and the rest of the world?

This year's election is going to be tough to predict and here's why:

1. Everyone hates Republicans at the moment, mostly because of Bush's failings as a President. Where does that leave the next Republican candidate? It could be either McCain or Huckabee. I personally like Huckabee, if for no other reason than his cool name.

Please don't take the next 2 comments as being racist or sexist, because what I am about to mention are actual factors going into the race.

2. Hillary is a woman. The 1st-ever female to even have a shot of being the US President. Plus, she's considered a b*tch and a lot of people dislike her. On top of that, many are predicting she'll lose to.......

3. Barrack Obama is also a Democratic front runner who many believe will win. He won the 1st caucus election, and many thought he would also win the 2nd (New Hampshire), but he lost. Hillary was considering dropping out of the race just before she won NH, so who knows what's going to happen now. What does Obama have going against him? He's the first black potential nominee to ever have such a shot at being President.

A key question for America is: are we ready for a minority or female President, or will we get too scared and vote in another Republican?

It's going to be VERY interesting.

There haven't been three caucuses.
I want Obama to win. Hillary is a horrible public speaker and I don't like what she plans on doing with the health care system and she voted for the Iraq War whereas Obama didn't.

The next primary is Michigan (I think) and Hillary is going to win that one. On the flipside, it looks like Obama has Nevada, and if he can reach the black population in SC (50% of the state's population is black) then he has that one too. Edwards needs to pull out, all he is doing is taking away votes from Obama (the two agree on a lot of issues).

If Huckabee wins (which he probably won't), I will move out of this country.

Obama would win, but because the majority of the southern states are so bigotted, he won't.
