Well, when I think 80's I think of the hair bands - and they were no good.

Still probably better than today's music, though...

Don't diss the 80's music scene . Those where my formative years. The alternative scene, particularly the british had an edge I haven't seen much like later.

We've seen some of the greatest and worst bands and singers ever to come from that decade.

This is true, the mix of horrible and sublime. This is what makes it interesting - the worst kind of music is music I am indifferent to. To hate music is to involve passion, and this is not an entirely bad thing. (If you hate all music, then you are twisted indeed )
