Clearly many have never left the States, imagine speed dials in most other countries. Britain would be worse because we have both!

Speedometers have both here as well. Even in the States the cars show both. It's just dependant upon the country as to which one is dominant on the dial. My wife is American and we have her car here in Canada, so I've had to adjust to reading the small numbers to keep track of how fast I'm going.
