Or use XChat a lot easier to do. Just click on Connect and it will connect no need to type the commands BUT there is no smilies.

I didn't see this thread until after the meeting. I just happened to go on the IRC half way through.

Phoenix kinda disappear on short notice, so I took over the meeting in his place. He did manage to swing by IRC briefly after the meeting was over.

General list of things covered in no particular order:
  • dachen628 and Imram's lack of presence on the site
  • Site bugs
    • Opera doesn't like the site
    • Quick reply is buggy in NGW 1.0 and NGW 3.0 skins
    • Quick edit is broken in NGW 1.0 and NGW 3.0 skins
    • Choose your favorite console on the front page doesn't work
    • Who is online doesn't work on the front page
    • Consoles sold signatures have bad numbers
    • Ticker doesn't not add and resets with page refresh/visit
    • Logos need updating and synchronized between the front page/forum
    • Cannot create reviews of games not already in the review system
  • Increase traffic to the site/get new members
  • Redesign the front page
  • Remove birthday listings of inactive members from the calendar
  • Ads on the site
  • Contests
  • New games in the arcade
  • Requiring a minimum post count to access certain parts of the site (anti-bot/troll technique)
  • Banned members returning
  • Moderation of the forum
  • Add an Xbox Live leader board

Information to gather:
  • What browser is the site optimized for (if any)
  • How much traffic goes to the forum versus the front page

I think I got everything discussed listed, but anyone there is free to add/correct things.

I do have a log of the meeting and those interested can send me a PM.

Excellent thanks for chairing that meeting Power666. Sadly I had to take my wife to the hospital. She is still and needs some more tests. :/

Looks like a lot got covered tonight. Good trouble shooting on the bugs Now lets see if Imran can get on it sometime this month.

of note, what i wanted with the calenter, was a SECOND calender option with ZERO birthdays on it. if you go to the calender, there is a little drop menu in the bottom right that lets you choose which calender to view. as of now, there is only one choice. what i would love is if they could add another calender that simply does not display birthdays.

that is like a 5-10 minute task from what i understand about sitebuilding (very little, but thats besides the point) if we only show some members, that beings into question of what is an active member? and then there is the whole problem of motivating imran to actually take the time to figure out a way to implement partial membership removal from a calender.

overall, i think just giving us an option for all or none would be really easy, and would also give the calender a chance to be what it was meant to be....USED! it really is a great feature if people would use it, but the fact that every damned day is cluttered up be 10 birthdays is annoying as hell.

btw, when you make an event on the calender, it displays at the bottom of the forum on the day it is scheduled. for instance, Monday, there will be a note informing members that the GDC has started and clicking on the note will give you a link to the GDC thread. this really is a great tool, i would love to see it used.

I hope she's alright.

The admins who bought the site really messed up the site didn't they?

Sorry, I haven't used a chat program since Microsoft Comic Chat back in the 90s.
I lol'd hard. I tried using that once on Win98 a while back, it ended up doing some illegal operations and closing down, never to open again. And just to think I had ALMOST been able to connect to our room, lulz.
