Default Toshiba's Cell Processor Based TV

Gametrailers.com - Cell processor in Toshiba TV CES 08 by Grave

I'm not sure if anyone has seen this, although probably, but I want that TV.

Toshiba TVs ftw.

Something to do with the upscaler and zoom functions?

If I was making Cell processors, I'd be putting them in everything.

Its awsome.

I'll say it again, The Cell is a marvel of a processing unit. Just not designed and suitable for gaming.

Wow, I want to watch 48 programs or 6 HD programs at once... TV will actually outpace my brain for once, haha! The uspcaling of SDTV sounds really cool though, and the upscaling of zoomed in HD. I never understood wanting to zoom in though. Usually the cameramen have that part covered...

That's pretty much what it was originally designed for.

And PirateThom, agreed - Toshiba TVs rawk The SD scaling on mine is rawther noice, though it doesn't have a Cell.

I have a Toshiba HDTV, and chose it primarily for its good upscaling of SD. Seeing that the PS3 also has a good upscaling (of BC titles and SD DVD's) it seems likely that Toshiba will make excellent use of the Cell (IIRC they co-designed the Cell with IBM and Sony). When this reaches consumer price levels, I want one....
