True. Having all the regular members talking about leaving the site on a monthly basis isn't really something that's going to encourage non members to sign up and participate.

What does it take to start an internet forum? If someone could make one we could all click over too it would be easy as pie.

That's a good point. If I were a guest, I'm probably not going to be 1st in line to sign up for a site that may have no members in a day or week.

Making a forum isn't the hardest part...getting people to go there is. Anyone can make a forum, but how are you going to bring people there? Having the few of us that migrate will be good, but the site has no name for itself. We complain about having no new members, but imagine how barren a startup site would be.

Especially when the mods won't make the most basic of changes- Such as the 'common sense' approach outlined here.


It's become a circle. No one comes because there are no members, and the best we can do is complain about the site/administration, so let's change that. If you want to keep ngw intact. I am telling you, the community here is not strong enough to hold this forum together unless drastic changes are made and soon.

Except that your common sense approach involves bringing DICE back. That's something that I think would divide this board more than anything. He has his share of fans that are always asking for him back, but more than a few people have stated that they'd leave if DICE came back. Gaining one at the expense of a few doesn't really sound like a good plan. And bringing back Gnu is up to him. He left under his own power and will come back under it if he and when he wants to.

The community has held it together for over half a year. But we are starting to get tierd of it.

We will continue to try as much as we can.

But I will tell you simple rules like No Trolling and the like wont go anywhere. Its more people like you trolling all the time that keep good new members away then people like Icemage or Power with decent conversations. If anything we need more like them and less like you.

The rules have recently been revised and eased up, and things are much more lax then they once were... I think your the only one that has receieved so much as an infraction in the last 2 months. So I do see how you think they are unfair.


Anyways... I am going to lock this thread for now. I think we have got it out and it seems like right now most have a wait and see approach. I think I will resurrect this thread come April and see where we sit as a community.
