Default One more reason not to switch to Vista

Some scary stuff, I don't think I'll ever install Vista or any future version of Windows if it comes with TC (Treacherous Computing)

Trusted Computing FAQ TC / TCG / LaGrande / NGSCB / Longhorn / Palladium

the thing is all the way back, I couldn't wait for Vista to be released and put aside enough money for Vista Ultimate. I'm so glad I've seen the light and didn't fall for Vista. Just for the record I'm a DOS/Windows user for more than 15 years.
I suggest you read the two articles, you'll be frightened!

I read them, THEN asked the question.

What are you talking about? If you're afraid you won't be able to download music illegally, well boo-fuckin' hoo.

It's so, morally unrighteous, that companies take steps to protect their products.

There's nothing to be frightened about. What's wrong with a company trying to protect their investment? If you aren't pirating stuff, why should it bother you?

I can't believe you read them and yet believe there's nothing wrong with DRM and TC!
What ever happened to FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOOOOOOOOOOOM!
I don't want Microsoft or Big Media to control how I use my computer, what I view, download, share, install or whatever!

People, 1984 is real!! Big Brother is watching you!

It's not piracy that concerns me, is that they can monitor and dictate how you use your computer!!
What's wrong with sharing with your friend anyway?

Viruses would be detected

Illegal transfering of money would be detected

Crime Plans would be detected

That it's actually illegal. On every single CD ever made it says "No unauthorised rental or distribution".

Do you really think Microsoft are gonna enforce it down to the very last serial? They'll go after people with bucketloads of pirated software. If a serial is only being used once or twice, they'll probably leave it alone.

If people didn't pirate things, Microsoft and the other big companies wouldn't have to resort to these kinds of techniques.

they can control what software you install, and since M$ hates FreeSoftware they can prevent you from installing them!!

if anything with TC crime plans will go undetected, because it enables the sender to delete the e-mail from all receiving computers

if they weren't so damn greedy maybe some of us wouldn't of pirated things, though I disagree on the usage of the term piracy! we are not some thugs who kill people and steal their ships! I'm sharing my music and videos with my friends, I've already paid for it anyway, and it's not like they are starving!
