Looks sell, it's the same with cars, girls, books, everything.

Because despite what you might think, the look of the user interface is one of the biggest factors of usability.

I bought a Macbook, and I'm so loving it! It now resides in the living room, and I really love everything about it. I decided against the Mini for a lot of reasons, chief among them, I'll have to buy a screen, keyboard, and pretty much everything else.

I don't know how powerful it is when it come to development and programming, I don't think it'll replace my tower PC running Ubuntu x64 and it wasn't meant for that. I bought primarily to replace the ancient Toshiba laptop that was in the living room.

Despite MacWorld being in 6 days, I'm not expecting an update to the plain MacBook. The MacBook Pro has a good chance of being updated with faster FSB, better video, faster processors etc.

How so?

(and how many times do I have to ask before somebody actually answers the question)

OMG I'm overwhelmed by how awesome the Mac is. My dad asked me to partition the HD, so he can logically arrange his data, and I can't believe how easy and straightforward it was! I didn't even have to reboot!

I remember partitioning your HD on Windows or GNU/Linux as a risky operation that'll will require at least rebooting once and at least 30 minutes if not more, on the Mac it took me, less than 15 minutes, and was risk-free.

I can't believe I didn't switch before!!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU VISTA!!!

Because if a UI is boring and ugly looking, it's pretty demotivating. Having a UI that looks nice, and is pretty uniform across a whole OS, goes a long way towards making something better to use.

Demotivating?

You don't talk like an engineer at all!
