Thinking about getting a Mac Mini Tomorrow

It will be my first Mac.

Anything I should be aware of? Are All Monitors Compatible?

Is the price of getting a Mac Mini plus a good Monitor less than the price of getting a Macbook?

Which way is the cheapest way for owning a Mac, that doesn't involve buying a used or stealing one?


Note: The Mac if bought will be used for basic Internet access, so no real processing power is needed.

You can install OSX on an EEE Pc for half the price of a mini.

Wait a week. Apple is busy updating there computer line up as we speak. New Mac Pro models were introduced today (8 core standard) as well as Xserve rackmount systems. The MacMini has a chance of being updated then.

I don't care about the OnBoard Graphics, I have another PC with the 7950GX2 and my brother's PC has 8500GT. I want a basic Mac for the living room, basic Internet stuff, nothing too flashy. Most of the time I wont be using it.

I don't have a lot of dough to throw, so I can't go beyond the Mac Mini, maybe I could afford a Macbook if I tried.

I'm not keen on waiting, patience is something I lack, I want it tomorrow. I can regret my purchase a week or two from now, but that's then.
