Default Webcam help!

I need some help finding a driver for my webcam, it's a MSN webcam doesn't have a producer's name on or anything the only thing is on the lense, it says pro|series lens = 35 fps - 640 x 480 dpi super amt. I've searched every where I can't find any driver. Would be a great help if anyone know where to find one!

Not as easy as it sounds... According to some digging around it seems your web-cam is a Vimicro 301x. Their driver download page is here. It's not a very helpful page to find which driver is the correct one, so luckily they also have a link to a tool that properly identifies your chipset, available from the same page.

On the same note, I have an Xbox Live! Vision camera. How do I get that to work with my PC? What program can I use to have it record? I've tried it with MSN and YM, and they don't seem to work with it... I know your supposed to be able to have it work.

My first instinct would be to search Microsoft's website. The 360 controller can work with PC games, if the right software is downloaded. Im assuming that the same can be said for the vision cam. Do a little bit of searching and get back to us about it.

I've looked a little. All I saw was that it should plug and play. But, using what software I don't know. It seems the drivers might not work quite right for me maybe. I was just hoping somebody else who has one might have already tried. It is a gaming forum after all and it's a gaming accessory.

so did you try pluggin it into a PC? and then just trying to use it as plug and play device?

Although I seriously doubt its Plug and Play, something like a webcam must need drivers/software. But if MS says that it can be used with a PC, then their site is where you would find the drivers. I would keep looking.

Thats just it, I never really had the urge to look any harder. I saw this thread and figured I'd throw it out there in case anybody already did. I guess I'm stuck doing the hard work though. With my dad in Iraq a webcam might actually come in handy now.
