Doesn't make any difference to me. The internet has so many options available making it hard to achieve world domination via the internet. I remember when they bought Hotmail and the horrors that were predicted from that. Somehow the internet found a way to survive.

MS has been going on about it for quite a while. I heard about it on the news, too lazy to search for proper sources so I just picked up some random sources, but here is a more recent one:

It's yahoo. It can't get worse.

I'd say it doesn't matter. Yahoo is a Web 0.5 technology. The only thing that sucks more than Yahoo is user controlled geosites pages.

I just wanted you to look at the situation without thinking "I love Microsoft so I don't mind them taking over the world".
Having a one company monopoly is dangerous and harmful, whether it is Microsoft or any other company.
Competition is what pushes companies to innovate, and thus all of us can benefit.
Sorry, but Microsoft is not a monopoly. Sure you can claim it is in the PC world because they were smart enough to hit the market hard and get their OS preloaded on just about any PC you buy. But, look anywhere else and I can't see a monopoly. Zune has lots of competition, IE has competition, Xbox has competition, Yahoo even if it gets taken over has TONS of competition. Maybe I fail to see the monopoly? Sure Microsoft is a huge company. So what? Pepsi is huge to, UPS is huge, etc... Microsoft isn't a monopoly in any sense of the word how I see it. You're overreacting, sure big companies aren't the best thing for a free market but, it's not a monopoly.
