Default I need iMac gossip!

Ok so just 20 minutes ago I was in a computer shop and I literally held a 20" 2,4 GHz iMac in my hands heading for the cashier to pay for it when a thought struck me;

Isn't a new iMac model due to be released any day now?

Needless to say I went home empty handed.

So has anyone heard any roumors about a new iMac model heading our way any time soon. Because seriously I would hate myself if I bought one today and the next gen is released within a months time.

No nothing, except the rumor I made up about Core 2 Quad iMacs. I don't think they'll be any update soon. Then again, Apple is very secretive about its products, so you wont know.

When was it the last time they showed a iMac at WWDC? Most Macs were shown either at MacWorld or some special Apple Event. WWDC is more about the OS technologies and stuff. Then again who knows, Apple is about both

I'd like Apple to at least announce a price cut. The Macbook Pro is almost £300 dearer than an equivalent from Dell. They need to stop shitting on consumers, especially Europe.

Europe is getting ripped off by everyone not just Apple.
Doesn't Apple offer student discount in the UK?

Europe does get ripped off, but Apple does it a hell of a lot more than most.

Student discount is piss all, and only at institutions that provide it.

Well, Apple is forced to rip off people more than any other company. They don't move a lot of computers, so they need to profit as much as possible out of the few they sale.

I can't deny the Brits being raped by every single company, but relatively, I see the Macbook Pro worth it. And never compare an Apple to Dell, a lost case, I assure you.

Errr... last time I checked an Apple cost about the same as an Dell with equivalent hardware (I think the price difference was within $30 range). But hey maybe that's just local prices.

EDIT:// But this still does not answer my question if anyone has heard anything about a new iMac
