| Kaspersky, Nod32, Antivir, and Spybot. Work amazingly well together. : ) (I was owned by a virus 3 times before, not taking any risks anymore.)

| Having used AVG, Avast and Nod32 I'd say AVG is the best, it seems to get many more updates and is far less intrusive. NOD32 (which we use at work) can be a real pain in the ass when getting large e-mails or opening large office document. The only thing I liked about Avast was the vocal "Virus database updated" message, very futuristic, but when i went back from Avast to AVG AVG straight away found 3 trojans Avast hadn't

| My favorites have always been Antivir and Kaspersky for AV and a collection of around 2-5 AS just because one can't get it all, you need to overlap. Good base is Spysweeper, Ad-aware, and Spybot. Add in ccleaner and jv powertools for general housekeeping and you should be running a lean version of windows. It's always good to have a bootable PE with a shitload of AV and AS software on it that can attach to the registry if you do get infected. That way you aren't logged in as administrator but more importantly, the processes aren't running so you won't be denied access when trying to kill the process.
