It only makes sense that things that were once 3 have now moved up to 4.

Blu-ray.com - Niveus Goes Blu-ray Exclusive

Quote:
Niveus, producer of home media servers, has announced that effective immediately they will offer Blu-ray drives on all of their server products and will begin phasing out their HD DVD supplies. As a former HD DVD supporter, the company is abandoning the format due to consumer demand for Blu-ray products and current market shifting towards Blu-ray.

Tim Cutting, CEO and Co-Founder, Niveus Media commented, "Incorporating Blu-ray into our offering has always been part of the plan but the demand from our customers, market trends, and recent announcements expedited our decision to come to market with Blu-ray support sooner rather than later. While we have stood behind HD DVD as a viable high-definition platform, Niveus engineers have been running Blu-ray in our testing facilities and are very impressed with the performance and integration with our servers."

Existing customers who purchased servers with HD DVD drives in the past 90 days will be eligible to upgrade to their Blu-ray product line for no additional cost.

Just got some new stuff off the PSN. Finally got the Warhawk expansion along with Trials of Topoq. Had a bit left over so I had to choose between one of the Eye "screensavers" or the 2 track Motorstorm pack. Since it appeared no one was using the new tracks online(and I learned my lesson from the 1st Resistance pack) I went with Aquatopia.

I've gotta say that Trials of Topoq is fun. Makes the Wii's concept of motion control seem weak at best. Definately worth the 6 Canadian dollars it cost, and leaves hope for the future potential of the Eye.

Oh good, someone else who thinks Trials of Topoq is an amazing game. The motion control is way more intuitive than the Wiimote, though also somewhat limited.

Aquatopia, on the other hand, is horrible. It's an aquarium screensaver. You probably should have gone with Mesmerize instead if you were dying to spend some PSN bucks.

I had looked into it, and it was pretty much a toss up between Aquatopia and Mesmerize. Figured an aquirium screensaver would be fine and might entertain the cats.

(Referring to Trials) Wow, that's a nice use of the Eye. It's an interesting way to implement a sense of "motion" without having to worry about motion detection, and it looks like it's sensitive enough to work well and intuitive simply because it just requires simple hand movement.

Sadly, I still have to get the Eye of Judgment before I can play this, but Eye of Judgment and Trials of Topoq are now definitely farther up on my to-get list on the PS3 side.
