Get Cod4 seriously... its got a better ranking system and you unlock perks, weapons, challenges which is SO much more rewarding than in Resistance. Both are good, but I do prefer Call of Duty because it's more rewarding when you level up.

Aww, you're so sweet... I suppose your posts ("I don't have a 360") in the 360 forum couldn't be construed as troll fodder in the slighest? So much for fairness...

Cyclone, my interest in seeing the PS3 fail (or at least remain in its current spot, a distant third) keeps me coming back...I anxiously await to hear just how tolerant the current fanbase (all of you) is with regards to Sony bringing the console up to par and supposedly crushing the competition (this includes the movie format war since even a mod has made that topic fair game here) like they were so sure they'd do prior to release in 2005/6. In fact, I await Sony's own squirmy response when Microsoft no doubt provides more details about the successor of the 360 next year (hopefully with the promise of a much more reliable piece of hardware).

Whatever, if you weren't a fanboy you'ld realise that games are just about fun. I have fun on my PS3... but I'ld probably have fun on any console (not so much Wii) but I don't care cause I'm having enough fun as it is

Gaming ceased being fun for me when the Dreamcast took a nosedive after the Sony smear campaign and hype machine finished off Sega. The console was nearly an identical performer to the PS2 in spite of the ridiculously inflated claims of the time (real-time CGI Toy Story animation anyone?). The possibility of it happening again this generation to another player doesn't set well with me at all.

Again, you've got me wrong...anything that cuts a litte further into Sony's stranglehold on the gaming market as well as erodes public perception that Sony/the Playstation brand is the only answer for high-end entertainment from an electronics division is what I'm after. Microsoft just so happens to be in the front seat to make this clear with Nintendo vying for control of the steering wheel. Samsung has done well in chipping away in other areas (TVs). Toshiba is having too much fun flooding the market with HD DVD players, etc.

Sony is getting its comeuppance, that's all, and I love being the spectator on the front row that's eagerly watching the mess unfold. While Microsoft and their stranglehold in the PC market may frighten some of you, Sony with its nose in Blu-Ray disk replication, hardware manufacturing AND movie distribution gives me the heeby-jeebies given their history.

I've said my piece...this is more ideological, personal and political for me than it is for you. Since someone literally asked why I was here and someone else tried to smear me with their own interpretation of the answer to that question, I had to set the record straight.

It's pretty much a proven fact. vinnie97 has an agenda against Sony.

Honestly, I have to ask you, what kind of personal satisfaction do you expect to receive should Sony lose its grip in the console race? I know you said that cutting its stranglehold on the market is what you're looking for, but think about this. Considering Microsoft's past history in attempting to monopolize every market it enters (OS, virtually every part of the software market, etc.), do you think seeing Microsoft do just that to the gaming market will be worth seeing the day Sony loses that grip? Wouldn't it be like deja vu all over again except with a far larger company on the top, and thus has a bigger chance in killing off the game industry directly under its weight?

Please tell me, because as far as I'm concerned, Sony is not the only company to look out for in terms of future decisions.

It's not personal, it's business. And that was what... nearly 10 years ago? Time to move on in life I think.

People make up their own minds, it's not like Sony is holding a gun to people's heads and forcing them to buy.

But not so much HD-DVD sales right?

Well, that's your problem, you've let gaming stop being fun for yourself. It's easy to say people didn't buy the Dreamcast because Sony said this and that, but Sega killed themselves with the Sega CD... and the 32X... and the Saturn. The reasons for the Dreamcast failure may lie with inflated claims from Sony, but, and let's be honest here, it's not like Sega didn't mess themselves up as well.

If you let a faceless company make gaming stop being fun for you, are they to blame or is it you for letting them? Gaming is only a business for the companies involved, for the consumer, it shouldn't be anything more than fun.
