PS3 General discussion thread

It sounds like it's not so much Sony hate that you have, but more a grudge due to the death of the Dreamcast. Grudges are less healthy than hate is.

Vinnie, your so far from reality that I don't even know what dimension you live in any more. The fact that you aren't enjoying gaming now speaks volumes about unhealthy your attitude really is.

The past three months have seen more, and better, games released across all of the consoles than I've seen in a decade - maybe more good games in that span of time than I've ever seen, period. If you aren't having fun gaming right now, you need to get the !#%# off gaming sites and find something more productive to do with your life.

Perhaps it's just because I'm getting older, but upcoming and new games just don't excite me like they used to. Could be because of my Super Nintendo bias as well. I love my PS3 and all, but there are no games that I would consider amongst my all-time favourites. Parappa and the SNES have them pretty much locked up. More and more I seem to find that games are more interested in looking nice than they are with the actual gameplay. The Wii on the other hands focuses more on ways to use the motion sensing even if it doesn't make sense to include. The Wii while also not able to put any games into my all-time favourites does have the honour of a game in my bottom five all-time. Congratulations Twilight Princess, you've earned it.

If at all possible we should try and get a game of Resistance going tonight as a sort of welcome to the PS3 for cyclone, assuming of course he's available to participate. I think most of us have Resistance so we could in theory get a good game going if enough people are interested and available. Anyone interested?

I agree with this. I think also at my age, I've come to realize that no game is all that great or all that much better than the one before it. This is also why I don't feel the need to own more than 1 console.
