PS3 General discussion thread

All of the ones I want will be released at the end of the year though. I doubt 3 games will keep me entertained for 6 months. If I got a 360 I can play the ones I've missed, and a huge list of ones coming out with Ed said in the other thread. Just means it's going to be expensive. Ild still put PS3 first though.

Seeing that you just recently played the God of War's I'd suspect there's probably still some good stuff on the PS2 that you haven't played yet. If you're dying to play some of the stuff on the 360 then I'd see no reason to not get one. If you're just getting it to fill a gap between new PS3 games you want, I'd say look for other PS1, 2, or 3 games you might have missed over the years.

Actually, there's gaps in every console's release slate coming, if you compare to the avalanche of titles we just got. I really think single-console owners are going to be hard pressed to find enough to play in the coming months, unless there's a swarm of games just waiting to be announced that no one knows about.

As it stands, the PS3 still has the most solid upcoming release slate, but if you're expecting to buy a new game every week like has been possible lately, I think you're out of luck early to mid-2008 even if you own all three consoles.

It's like that pretty much every year. Holiday season and very late winter/spring tend to overload you with games while the summer and December-February are very slow. You can still find some solid sleeper titles released during the slow times.

I've played most PS2 titles worth playing. Well I've actually never played Resident Evil 4. Rockband is coming out next year too. Could get guitar hero 3. I want some more action adventure games. I just passed Uncharted, Ratchet and Assassin's Creed.

How many hours does Rock Band take?

I'm getting a 360 just to play the exclusive games. Bioshock, Mass Effect and Crackdown... maybe Splinter Cell Conviction next year.

I don't care about achievements, so I'd still be getting PS3 multiplatform games (except The Orange Box), but it's worth grabbing one for the exclusives.

Also, Metal Gear Solid 4 is still on for Q1 2008, as far as I'm aware. Same with Little Big Planet. Don't take Three Speech as an official store, they're not official and they're not always right.
