I'd say wait 6 months and evaluate prices then. If there's a decent standalone by September for $300 or less, then go with that, otherwise pick up a 40GB PS3 (likely to be at least $50 less than what it is now).

If you must have a unit earlier than that, though, PS3 all the way for speed/performance/reliability.

So im leaning towards the 2nd PS3 so next what i would like to know is are there any bundles coming our way possibly for MGS release? I plan to get it anyway and if can get it in a bundle it might be worth it

I was actually thinkin of gettin a standalone player for my parents since i'm buying every new movie now on blu-ray (No Country for Old Men, I Am Legend). But i'll be buying one (that is if I do) around christmas and i'm positive the price will be marked down by then.......God I love technology.
