Sony Exec: Gran Turismo 5 Launching “This Fall”

We believe that launching the product this fall, before Christmas, but not yet decided. I do not rule that uses the MC but I doubt it. ‘GT 5′ is a great hope for Sony, a very important game for the company, which generates much income. We would have wanted him out before but we think the priority we are giving it our best. I’m very confident in this game that we launch this year and help us consolidate PS3 as the console that is large.

Why? Better late than never, and it is coming this fall.

I think marketing is the main reason for choosing fall. Fall is a major shopping season in the US.

It was supposed to come last fall. :P

I think it makes sense for Sony's 2010 end of year line up though... which doesn't help me at all, but this and, probably, the Last Guardian will be good.

I just hope it has something to show for it. Else a major meltdown will ensue.

They should have expanded GT5P with DLC, and rename GT5 to GT6 and give it another year or two.

I read an article where Sony originally said this would be released in 2007. :/

Cell, while a marvel of design, didn't turn out to be a wise decision for Sony.

I don't think it has anything to do with the Cell at this point. My honest belief is that they tried to cram in too many features at the 11th hour and those features turned out to be harder to implement than they thought...not necessarily because of the cell (though, that may have played a part), but just due to those features not being easy to integrate as an afterthought. It's easier to build something into the game from the start than to try and shoehorn it in after.

That's my take on it, anyway.
