Awesome deal man. I too have gotten the PS3 itch. So I've been scouring ebay for the best 60GB deal. Finally bit the bullet an bought one. Just waiting for it to arrive now.

Was yours originally a 60GB version? That's my biggest concern, since I have so many unplayed and/or unfinished PS2 games, and don't want too many things hooked up to my TV. Also, the fact that I only have 2 component and 2 HDMI ports is a factor too.

nope, mine was a 40gb. I haven't had a PS2 since 2001 though, so it wasn't an issue for me.

Did you get an "as-is" or a working one?? I think it was one of the smartest things i've ever done now in hindsight, but the week it took to get to me was a bit stressful. If anyone ever does go looking, find one with "missing hard drive, won't power on" in the discription. You may just luck out.

I sold the PSU on ebay and am shipping it tomorrow, and i actually made a 30 dollar profit on it. I'm counting it as part of the whole venture. So, i'm at $240 for a 160gb PS3.

not too bad. A new PS3 would have put me at around 500 bucks including the upgrade i did. I could have shopped around for a better deal on the HDD, but i was in a hurry at that point.

Next thing is probably going to get GTA4 for it. I don't think i'll be getting any 360 games for a while, probably not till gears 2...

One of the MOST refreshing things about the PS3 is i don't feel dread every time i play it wondering if it will be it's last time turning on. It has been rock solid with never a crash, hang-up, or anything. Definitely high quality hardware and SONY does that better than most... It's nice to be able to leave it on if i have to and not worry about it melting.

Right now i'm liking the PS3 more, but it is new, i'll have to wait to make any judgements..

No, mine was refurbished. I'm a little weary of the broken ones. Most of the "as is" systems I have seen have involved not powering up, or some other error that I probably can't fix, and if I had to get it repaired, the cost advantage would quickly disappear. Perhaps I should have looked for the no hard drive ones, but I can't honestly ever remember seeing one in my ebay searches. But then, I always included "60" or "60gb" in my search queries, which really limited things, I guess.

Well, just got my PS3 in the mail. No issues yet. I'm pretty excited about the whole backwards compatibility thing. Also, he included a copy of CoD4 and an HDMI cable. Pretty sweet!

Default Nice!!!

COD4 is a hella cool throw in.

I'm such a tard b/c i bought components b/c they were only 15 bucks (sony brand). Now i'm wishing i got the HDMI b/c come to find out that it won't upscale DVD's over component.

oh well. I've always liked the picture over component, it's more rich than HDMI IMO. I gotta get one some time though...

Oh yeah, i just sold the 360 on ebay. 360 plus 9 games for 400 bucks... oh well, not too bad i guess..

just PS3 for me now... Enjoy your PS3!!! I know i am..
