Forum Rules & Important Notes.
The rules and guidelines of NexGenWars.com are subject to change at any time without notice. For this reason, it is recommended that users frequently view them to ensure that they are aware of the most recent revisions. While the following covers most common situations, keep in mind that moderators and administrators reserve the right to delete, edit, move, or otherwise alter a post or thread and to take any necessary action against improper forum conduct.

General Forum Rules:

1. As long as people treat each other with respect, realize that fact and opinion are two different things, and use their better judgement when it comes to posting controversial things everything should be OK. If admins and moderators feel that a thread is going in a bad direction we can either close it, or make a warning in the thread to not continue down the current path. Such warnings are to be heeded!

2. The primary language of this forum is English. If you post in a language other than English, please also post an English translation or summary. Member who are not native English speakers are to be treated with respect even if their spelling might not be perfect.

3. Each member is allowed one login account. Registering multiple accounts is not allowed and will result in both accounts being banned or deleted.

4. Multiple people sharing one account is also not allowed.

5. Cheating in the arcade games results in an infraction or ban.


6. Spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and private message systems to spam other members. A member's custom title, avatar and signature are equally subject to this rule (see below for further custom title, avatar and signature rules). Breaking this rule may result in an immediate and permanent ban.

7. Discussing of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed. Brief mentions or related topics which are not illegal may be tolerated; however, it is safest to avoid the subject entirely.

8. Don't pretend to be a NGW representative.
Your account will be nuked quickly if you pretend to be a NGW representative as a way of getting interviews. You can't post anything in the interview section anyway, so don't try. There will be abundant threads to request questions and suggest who to interview, please keep your involvement with the interviews limited to suggestions in those threads.

Custom Title Rules:
9. Members are allowed to have a custom title but several are forbidden:
-"Banned"
-"Moderator"
-"Administrator"
-If it contains inappropriate language.

Avatar Rules:
10. Avatar size is limited to 80 x 80 pixels and 19.5Kb in size. Animated avatars are allowed.


Signature Rules:
11. All signatures should not exceed the following size limits, but you can have both text and images, assuming the text and the image combined is less than 200 pixels high or the text is placed to either side of the image rather than above or below it.

12. Text in signatures are limited to 7 lines with the default font size. Larger font sizes maybe used if they do not exceed the space of 7 lines using the default font size.

13. Images in a signature can be up to 600 pixels wide, up to 200 pixels high and a size of 200k total. Multiple images are allowed if all the images combined fit into these defined limits.

14. Animated images, or images with movement of any kind in signatures is not allowed.

Advertising rules:
15. One ad per member profile is permitted. This can be one of the following:A link in your sig to another site in regular sized font, or a banner ad in your sig for another site, or a custom user title with another site's web address, or an avatar of another site. If a member continually includes more than one ad, all ads will be deleted from their profile, and further action could take place.

A thread has been created in the forum

This is where all discussion about other sites is to take place. If a thread is made about another site, it will be moved to this thread, and the site will be added to the list. Continued spamming of a site that is already on the list will result in the posts being deleted and the site may be removed from the list.

Report Post Tool
Just for the people who haven't noticed, at the top right of each post in a thread is an image. You can click this image to notify the moderators and administrators of a post that violates the forum rules. Don't be afraid to use it if you see a post we should know about.

Address problems through personal messages:
If you have a question about the rules, the moderators, or how the site is run, please ask boffo, Romanc or Darth Daver in a private message. We have no problem with a member disagreeing with one of our decisions. However, making a thread in the forums to debate a decision usually leads to arguments rather than solutions and often drags in people who don't need to and shouldn't be involved. If you do have a problem with a decision we've made please PM a mod/admin about it and we'll hear your side of the story as well as better explain our reasoning for the decision. If we feel a problem can be solved by making a thread on it, which may occasionally happen, we'll gladly give you permission to create an open discussion.
