Nintendo fails at online, true enough. But don't blame this on them just because you don't know how to use the damn thing. I had to use the USB connector.. with dial-up.. with other networked computers.. and it wasn't that hard, even though I had to hack the USB connector. but in the end I had no troubles, so either you got a faulty Wii somehow, or you're an idiot.

Nintendo makes a broadband adaptor.

I can tell you now, the connection isn't any better really, but at least it WILL connect.

By the way Nintendo products in my experience HATE Linksys routers. Actually, they hate MOST routers out there.

The only product I've seen work flawlessly is a Buffalo router.

Sounds more like you fail at the Wii, to me. My Wii and DS both connect to my Linksys router fine as well. Perhaps you have the signal sent on a channel other than 1?
That wouldn't explain the deleting of your Internet channel though. That I'm going to have to chock up to your idiocy.

all you do is plug in the WPA/TKIP number, and i have used the internet before. It just stopped working and times out now

obviously i know what i am doing when i have set up a laptop and a wireless 360. Wii Connect 24 isn't even working, no yellow light or anything. The shit still isn't working.

so unless any of you are having the same problem....five of you saying i don't know what i am doing really doesn't help so keep your fanboy shit to a minimum.

Okay it WILL NOT delete things during an update. However if the update screws up during installation (thus damaging the channel) it will remove it. That is probably what happened here. It should give you a warning but meh, just re download. Easy peasy. As for connection mine connects fine to my Linksys router as well. Make sure everything is set up right, check and double check. Thing is if you are getting sparatic net then you should have set it up right, you may have a low bandwidth, shut down other machines in the house that could be using your internet connection and then guage it. A lot of things take a long time to load on the Wii, much slower then PSN or XBL. Why? I dunno. I would agree though that the Wii online is nothing but fail, it feels tacked on and cheap. But that is life, we have to live with what we have.

That said my Wii didnt do much but collect dust before I sent it back for repairs so.
