Wow.

Finally got myself the official Nintendo component cable for my Wii today and the difference is stunning. Even before I set it to 480p mode there was a noticeable reduction in signal noise (which was especially apparent when the screen was dark, or when moving the pointer over buttons).

Colours are definitely much more vibrant - the intro video to Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games looks superb.

Best of all, the improved signal really helps my TV show off its internal scaling capabilities

The official Nintendo component cable does wonders even for 480i (my SDTV can only display 480i)... it's a huge jump from composite, and you can see more details as well as more vibrant colors. I'm sure the difference is clear even on an HDTV.

The official Wii component cables costs like $35 (me being cheap) at Best Buy. I'm still wondering if I should pick them up, along with Brawl.

Yeah, that's the cheapest you'll get them for usually. I can vouch for them, and I don't know how well the cheaper, third-party cables function. With these, you'll never be able to go back to composite again is all I can say, and it'll definitely show in Brawl and Galaxy.

I'm actually wondering if I should've gotten the all-in-one PS3/Wii/360 component cables, since switching between the PS2/PS3 component cables and the Wii component cables is beginning to get really annoying.

dz06lt, what third party brand would you say is pretty good?

My component cable is from Icon. Works like a charm.

Yeah you'll really want them because it looks bad with out them. Also you'll get actually pretty awesome, crisp, and good colour picture. I was very glad I got them.

I have a Sony Bravia KDL37P3000 LCD. For the moment My PS3 is plugged to the first HDMI port (of 2), my Wii to a Scart and my Xbox 360 to the componant. If I buy Wii Component Cable I will have to buy Xbox 360 VGA cable so I won't have to switch between Wii and X360 component cable. So It will cost me EUR 60. Does it really worth it or should I keep my current cables?
