I've dropped every Nintendo system except my SNES on concrete multiple times and they all work fine. I think I dropped my GBA off a balcony onto carpet once, too. I have an original DS; I wouldn't recommend dropping the dainty little Lite on concrete.

Unfortunately, I have had my Wii get really loud when playing Wii games and it stopped playing GameCube games. My GameCube also stopped working after awhile. I sent my Wii to Nintendo and they sent me a new one. It kind of sucked because I had to get my friends to reregister and none of my Miis were mine anymore, but otherwise it was okay.

Registering your Wii on Nintendo.com will increase your warranty for another 9 months, I believe.

Also, I've seen that GameBoy at Nintendo World Store in NY.

I suppose it could be that way because the PS3 itself would generate more heat than the Wii, so it's much more likely to fall to the problem of overheating (the major source of failure in most computer-related equipment).

I feel that Nintendo did a great job of designing the compact Wii, considering the heat problem... and it's nice that the likelihood of getting a defect is nice and low

[personal experience, not indicative of every Gamecube/Wii user]
Wii lifetime: currently 2 weeks with no problems
Gamecube lifetime: currently 5 years and still going strong

Mines perfectly fine though, hasnt broke yet, or even crashed come to think of it,
The only previous nintendo system i have had is the Gameboy Advance SP which i have now sold, but it was great up to then.
