The currently best way to find a Wii in stores is to show up at the opening on sunday (if you are in the US and are reading this now and you don't have a Wii yet and are looking for one, leave and head to your local Walmart/Target/Gamestop NAOW).

As for when it will be readily available. I must admit that I personally never saw a single one on shelves around here, though there was that one time (I did write here about it) where I saw a men who was purchasing one and to whom I gave game choice advices. Beside that, the Wii shelves around here have been filled with Wii games and accessories, but no consoles to be seen.

The impact of Wii Fit and Brawl to the Wii demand can be hard to predict. If we look at the japanese market, they jumped on Wii Fit, but at the same time, they mostly ignored SMG (shame!), while SMG pretty much topped the lists in NA. One could thus assume the japanese Wii owners are more casual than the NA Wii owners, therefore Brawl might have a bigger impact on Wii demand here than Wii Fit. Who knows... but bottom line it will come down to marketting of both titles. If anything, I swear that if Wii Fit is featured on such TV show as Oprah or Martha Stewart.... Wii demand will be sky high until 2009.

I think that it will continue for a while next year, slow down near the middle, and then be impossible to find near Christmas. On a side note, who all is getting Wii Fit? I'm not sure if I am at all.
