The shortages are a real bummer. I own a wii, but people bought 4 before the shortage at xmas (at £180) and are now selling them at like £300, much like the ebay business! Wish i had done that now as well, made a lot!

As for shortages of Wii's continuing into 2008, I haven't seen any Wii's in stock at any of the stores where I live. They're almost impossible to come by here.

I was in the store last week, just checking out the games. There was a man who was asking for a wii, and the store gal said that they didn't even hit the shelves. Even though they get a larger shipment, because they buy larger amount of (crap) games, they just can't fill in the demand.

Alot of people who wanted one for christmas/ny will be getting one in the next couple of weeks. I don't see the "fad" dying yet

EDIT: i guess the wii will slow down when xbox gets another pricecut, effectively placing the arcade below the wii at pricepoint. As microsoft pricecuts after sony, this is a on-hold until ps3 needs another boost (resulting in an even larger boost for both xbox and wii when they need to pricecut)

well, here in Germany there aren't many lying around, but at least one is in every store i looked. Perhaps the shortage is in the US only?

But we totally have a Wii-Mote shortage. Only via Amazon I could get another one.

why pay 250 for another remote?

and it's not like someone's gonna buy the Wii from you without the remote
