I used my NES, SNES, N64, GameBoy, GBC, GBA, Game Cube, and now Wii almost religiously and have never had one hiccup from any of them outside of cartridges messing up.

I even dropped my NES and SNES too much :$ (broke the casing on the SNES)

My Wii failed just after I sold it for 300 (the person was not too happy) although it only took Nintendo 7 days to fix it.
My brother in law got a Wii, I sold it for him, again it failed just after he sold it so we sent it back to Nintendo who replaced it with a new one in about 10 days.

My Wii had a Disk Read Error, lazer or something like that

The other Wii had a power failure due to Wii connect 24, that was the one that got replaced with a new one.

Could be something on your end. There's really no difference between my Wii internet speeds and PC speeds, and I use the crappy Nintendo USB dongle, with my Wii on the opposite side and different floor of the house.

Meh, my computer internet is high-speed, T1 or something I believe. Wireless, but my computer receives up to 32 MB/s I believe.
I don't know. My 360 works fine, I've got an ethernet cable running across the house. I just thought it hated my router or something, but sometimes it will connect (slowly) and sometimes it won't. (To the shop channel, I mean)
