No it's wireless. I'm using this thing:

The connection itself is fine, but every once in a while you have to tamper with it to get it to work, because the product itself is crap. But when it's working, everything is still really fast for me.

I've never had any problems with the connection speed of my Wii.

Yeah, but they need a wireless connection to receive... which I didn't have, so I stupidly bought that. It plugs into your PC and emits a wireless signal.

And you probably could have bought a router for how much that thing cost.

Linksys WRT54G router (w/DD-WRT) on 1st floor (connected to cable modem), Wii itself connected via wireless on 2nd floor... no problems with connection at all and no resets required. Better than the wireless on this laptop (though it sucked to begin with anyway)

T1?! What does the connection bill look like?

100 bucks per month...or year...something...but it includes our phone service and cable as well, so it's all one package.
I'm not sure it's T1, it could be the connection speed below it, but I think I heard from my dad it was T1.
But occasionally I have to reconnect to the router for some reason, either the router goes out for periods of time, or the adapter does.
I think I overload it sometimes.

Well, I would be assuming you're not using BitTorrent or anything like that when making the Wii connect to the shop channel. Do you know what the exact model of your router is? I'm just wondering if that's the real bottleneck, or if it's just from an unreliable brand.

Not a very good one, to my knowledge. The thing was about 40$.
