They had some great games on gamecube, they jsut didn't take off well.
I think they've realised that if it doesn't have mario on it it won't sell that well. Which is bad.

I think nintendo will probably do their best to keep it fresh, they did air a lot of finality about zelda and brawl.

I still reserve judgement til e3, but you could expect a lot of these games to release within the wii's time anyway.

Why do they need new IP?

IP is just artwork for a game a bad game is still a bad game no matter what IP it has.
Halo still is Quake no matter how much you try to make it not to be quake

I think Pikmin could get some new life on the Wii. It's basically an RTS puzzler, and the laser pointer could be put to great use in that context.

Nintendo US boss Reggie Fils-Aime has said that Wii-owners can expect "a big game for the holiday"

seriously, do they really think they are going to satisfy gamers with ONE big game between e3 and christmas?





ok, now going down the list:

1. Donkey Kong: this could be good, but after the last 10 years i have zero faith in nintys ability to make anything that resembles a decent DK game. case in point: that racing game with n64 graphics they just let the intern team slop together on the wii
2. Pikmin: this is probly the one wii game i am waiting for. it is by far one of the game that stands to gain the most from smart use of the wiimote, and i cant wait to see it.
3. 1080, dont care for this game at all
4. pilotwings: never heard of it
5. wave race: wtf? this game wasnt that special and doesnt need to be revived
6. Kirby: seems to have a cult following, but Ninty doesnt seem to care, when was the last console kirby game?
7. Luigi's mansion: the first one was pretty meh, do we really need another? another question, do we really need to paint luigi as any bigger fo a pansy than he already is?
8. F Zero: this could do well, i know this is a pretty respected franchise, not that i have ever really cared for it.
   
9. Animal Crossing: isnt this pretty much already confirmed?
10. Starfox: this i could get into, with the spectacular fall from grace Factor 5 did with RS3, im out of a good flight combat game, and if this is good, i could see myself getting it.
    

this list is sure stretching at points, but i would say at least Starfox, FZero, Pikmin, Animal Crossing, and *sigh* another shitty DK are more than likely
