As for the price difference, the 40 GB PS3 retails for ~$400 US while the Wii goes for ~$250. My math works out to a $150 price difference between these two systems. Last I checked the $150 price difference is less than the $170 suggested retail price of Rock Band.
Um, k .

"However, because the Wii's online capabilities and potential have yet to be fully realized, we wanted to wait before we explored online functionality for Rock Band to ensure that players get the high-quality of online performance they've come to expect."
This must be the worst defense ever.

how drunk do you have to be to defend the Wii version of Rockband

it sucks
and they know it, they had alternatives they could've done just for the Wii version (especially due to it coming out so much later)

they literally could've added more songs to the disc itself to make up(somewhat) for the lack of DLC, their is no excuse for no online, and they could've made it cheaper

then even with all the stuff that's missing it would still be a decent buy
but now, you'd be a fool to but it, unless you only own a wii, and you really want Rockband

Leo... Wii Rock Band = $169.99 PS3 Rock Band = $169.99

Wii Rock Band doesn't have DLC, Online Play, OR Character Customization...
but it costs the same amount as the versions that do! All of your arguments are moot! Wii version is gimped! A lazy port! The Wii is last gen (well maybe not this part)!

wouldn't say it's last gen. but it's hard to argue otherwise when game ports work like this
PS3/360 versions
Wii/PS2 versions

Actual translation: We put some spin on this to make it sound better than it is.

Don't fall for it. Companies do this all the time, as much as they can. Take Sony's statements early in the PS3's life when it was being trounced by the 360 and Wii. They don't mean what they say. When was the last time you heard a company go "Yeah, well, we didn't really care about this product, hope you do though."

Look, the Wii version is gimped for no good reason, and it's a real shame. Harmonix didn't try, this is just a stopgap to slow down GHIII so Harmonix can take a piece of the rythm-based game pie. Not to say the game will be bad, but it won't be as good as it could, and should, be. I refuse to buy this game because Harmonix doesn't deserve my money for this lackluster effort, or anyone else's for that matter.

I'd rather get GHIII, a similar game that actually had plenty of effort put into it. One of the few multiplatform games on Wii that can at least stack up to its other versions.

To be honest, I hope it bombs. Hard.

And it will.

Hard.
