Didn't Guitar Hero 3 already do it?

Yep. Online play and leaderboards both, but without knowing how GH3 accomplished it, it's hard to know where the extra effort came from.

I don't see how it's possible to defend this. Everything happening here is everything we don't want to see happening with Wii.
  • Lazy devs - check
  • Weak (in this case non-existant) online - check
  • PS2 port - check
I truly hope this game completely bombs in terms of sales. Maybe then Harmonix will think twice the next time.
Well said :\
I never really would've expected this from Harmonix, thought they knew better than this. It was a mistake outsourcing it to Pi Studios...this is just lazy, no way the Wii's limitations are that bad.

Gutted.

Well, I did buy an Xbox 360 for Rock Band in the first place, so I guess this just confirms which version I'll be getting.

Whenever it finally gets released in FUCKING EUROPE.

C*ntm*nk*ys.

Ask me when I've got Brawl [US].

Of course DICE... er ah, Leon.

Someone needs to explain to Leon that DLC is not ripping the end out then charging for it later.. But adding epilouges to an already awesome story.

Like Rainbow Six Vegas... and then its many packs that added many more maps and weapons and modes to a strong ONLINE game. However, I guess since the Wii has a basic online service he will never understand the joy that is kicking someones ass across the world in any game.

Middle of the night? all your friends in bed? Wii cannot find you a opponent at random... however PS3 and 360 keep you gaming with friends and new friends all the time... oh yeah with voice chat so you can toss in that .... BWAHAHAHAAHAH Did you see the look on your face when I ran your car off the road... oh yeah, forgot to mention that good camera that the PS3 and 360 have, adds to it when you get to see the look of horror on your opponents face when you wreck his car 10 feet from the finishline.

Yeah Phoenix, I've never played an online game before.

I mean, I don't own an xbox, what did you expect?

Never said that you HAVENT just said that you dont care. Because the Wii's online makes sense to you.

Frankly reading that post when you say that DLC = Incomplete game while you are defending a heavily stripped down version of a game, just goes to prove how completely flawed your 'logic' is.

No online play (In a music game??!?? who gives a fuck) is no loss at all, and DL¢ is barely a scratch. The idea of getting new tracks for the game is great, but it's just revenue collection in practice. I've got a guitar- I can play along to any song I like for free.

Besides, do you think Rock Band 2 will have new peripherals? [No] Furthermore, what were you expecting? Why didn't the ps2 version get the blasting that the Wii version is getting now?

Not a Wii Bashing thread.. in fact its a Harmonix bashing thread.. get with it.

Having new songs to play is great... playing online with friends is great..

I also play guitar IRL.. It is fun... sadly most of my friends wouldnt know what to do with a real one, but with GH or RB they can play right along and have fun.

Why didnt the PS2 version get bashed...well.. its a lastgen console, was anyone really expecting it to be better then this generations? The Wii however is this gen.... so yeah, I would expect it to have online.. at least DLC... you know.. after I have beaten all the songs on the hardest difficulty with friends going and getting a few new songs to play is great.

Again this isnt a WII BASHING THREAD. Just because the Wii version sucks doesnt make it Nintendos fault. The fact that you jump in and start defending it tooth and nail because it is the Wii version because you THINK it is Wii bashing is sad. Harmonix dropped the ball here, not Nintendo, there is no reason this couldnt have any of the options that they cut out. The Wii online is capable enough to play it online, just no random, and 512MB onboard maybe small but 1GB SD is cheap and I would like to get new songs.

Now stop being a blind fanboy and know that just because something may be BAD ON THE WII, doesnt mean the WII is bad.
